Under the direct supervision, performs skilled technical work including the preparation of the patient and equipment for physical therapy treatment in the Rehabilitation Department. Assists, as directed, in the treatment process. Maintains equipment, supply inventory, and department cleanliness.
Core Competencies
- Prepares patient and sets them up with treatment modality (ie, hot packs, cold packs) including preparation of equipment and providing supplies, safe transfer, and positioning of patient and assisting patient, as needed.
- Assists with or gives physical therapy treatments (such as ultrasound, massage, gait training, exercise programs) and documents treatment as directed for adolescent, adult or geriatric patients, under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist.
- Maintains infection control procedures/clean technique in preparing for, assisting with, or cleaning up after treatment of patients.
- Ensures communication is appropriate to the age and status of the patient.
- Monitors patients condition, safety and progress during treatment procedure per patient age and status.
- Demonstrates and promotes good relationships with patients, families, staff and physicians.
- Helps with housekeeping responsibilities and maintains Rehabilitation areas in a neat and orderly state.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies within the department and outlying treatment areas.
- Assists in the service and maintenance of department equipment.
- Assists in clerical duties as needed including patient scheduling, and billing.
- Evaluates and makes positive suggestions for change in the environment.
- Seeks supervisor/manager as appropriate.
- Maintains medication security to authorized personnel only.
- Demonstrates a cost conscious attitude.
License / Certification Requirements

Compensation:
$23.00 - 26.75/hr
