Wound Care Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities:
The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for visiting our wound care patients in skilled nursing facilities and administrating quality wound care, interventions, and special treatments. They will work with the skilled nursing facility to deliver stronger care for the patients and see better outcomes for patients' wound. They will also work with the Healing Partners staff to give updates on specific treatment and care plan options.
- Direct and evaluate resident health care in long-term care settings.
- Daily Travel to various facilities. Regions can vary based on scheduling needs.
- Treat chronic and acute episodic wound-related illnesses
- Collaborate with internal and external wound care teams.
- Work with the medical director in the care and treatment of residents and staff.
- Application and management of topical wound care and associated wound management products.
- Direction and recommendation of associated services to improve wound healing outcomes.
- Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on current wound management practices.
Education & Experience
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist
- Degree conferred upon successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy professional education program with a (B.S., MPT, MSPT, DPT)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be proficient in the application of modalities and procedures used in wound healing procedures.
- Ability to apply an adequate knowledge of anatomy, function, and structure.
- Cognizant of safety standards in a clinical environment
- Ability to work independently.
- Must demonstrate professional interpersonal communication and conduct.
- Ability to accurately complete documentation in a timely manner
- Must have organizational, and time management skills, and the ability to problem-solve.
- Must be an effective communicator with patients and client staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand and walk for 4+ hours
- Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen residents.
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.
- Pushing/Pulling 70+ pounds when administering patient care
- Bending/squatting/kneeling/twisting when administering patient care
- Depth perception when performing medical procedures
Work Environment:
- May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
- Will travel to multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities within your local area
- The position requires COVID-19 vaccination.
