About the Role
As a Physical Security Systems Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the security landscape at OpenAI as we expand across the globe. As a member of the Corporate Security team, you’ll be entrusted to help provide safety solutions for our corporate campuses.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of physical security systems and a strong background in managing and integrating physical security technologies among numerous and remote office spaces. This role involves designing, optimizing, and maintaining comprehensive security solutions to protect our facilities and assets in a fast paced, growth environment. Additionally, Genetec Enterprise Technical Certification is required.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. Some domestic and international travel may be required (<10%). We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement advanced physical security systems using Genetec Security Center and other systems.
Configure and maintain access control systems, video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems.
Ensure seamless integration of security systems with existing IT infrastructure.
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, sometimes at odd hours.
Act as a specialist on preventative maintenance for security infrastructure, ensuring on-time and accurate security patching and updates according to standard operating procedures.
Help select, evaluate, and manage relationships with security technology vendors.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality of their deliverables.
Coordinate with site management teams to interface with internal and third-party auditors in order to fulfill audit requirements.
Analyze and maintain security drawings and site-specific supporting documentation.
Ensure deployments meet published standards through quality control initiatives.
As a physical security technology expert, recommend new methods and procedures when deemed appropriate.
Provide training to junior administrators and end users.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have extensive experience with advanced physical security technologies, including access control systems, CCTV, and intrusion detection platforms.
Maintain a Genetec Enterprise Technical Certification (required).
Have a proven track record of building out new office spaces.
Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working discreetly on sensitive security matters.
Collaborate well with cross-functional teams to coordinate security installations that may impact facility infrastructures.
Are willingness to respond at odd hours to urgent needs.
Are willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed (less than 10%).
