About You:
You’re no stranger to photography and videography – the lights, the cameras, the action.  Ideally, you aspire to be within the field of creative photography and have a passion for visual storytelling. Learning as you work is the way you learn best. You’re not afraid to speak up but know how to listen to and create space for others. ‘Attention to detail’ isn’t just a line on the application but is important to your work style. You like to have fun while you work, but at the end of the day you always get the job done.

About the position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Photo Studio Assistant to support our Brand Marketing and Photo/Video Studio teams. This role is key to ensuring smooth, day-to-day operations in our e-commerce photo/video production studio – from managing production schedules and on-set assisting, to asset management and studio upkeep. The right candidate should thrive in a highly collaborative, often quick-turn environment. This role is part of our larger Creative team, under the Photo/Video Production umbrella. Reports to the Multi-Media Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Coordination: Assist with the coordination and scheduling of photo and video-based marketing projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to brand guidelines. Help manage workflows and communicate with team members to keep projects on track.
  • Photo/Video Studio Support: Provide hands-on assistance during photo and video shoots, including setting up equipment, organizing props, and managing shoot logistics. Ensure studio space is maintained and organized.
  • Content Preparation: Help prepare and organize content for shoots, including managing shot lists and daily production schedules, selecting and arranging products, and coordinating models. Assist in post-production tasks such as file organization / asset management, and basic editing using the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Brand Marketing Assistance: Support the Brand Marketing team with various tasks including content creation, organizing marketing materials, and coordinating with external vendors or agencies.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, project statuses, and inventory of props and equipment. Assist in compiling and organizing creative assets and documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, design, and studio teams to ensure seamless execution of projects. Provide administrative support as needed and contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative meetings.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Photography, Design, Visual Arts, or other relevant creative field preferred, but will accept equivalent experience or related studies in lieu of formal education.
  • 2+ years’ professional industry experience as a Photography Assistant or Production Assistant.
  • Working knowledge of Cannon camera platform, Capture One Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Premiere, primarily).
  • Knowledgeable with studio lighting (strobe and constant) equipment.
  • Accustomed to the high intensity level of an e-commerce studio environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Show aptitude to develop a great eye and aesthetic.
  • A great attitude and flexibility towards business and its ever-changing, sometimes ambiguous nature.

Table Stakes:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Working knowledge of Asana helpful.
  • A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creativity.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support various aspects of the brand marketing and production processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
