Reporting into the Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of pharmacy technicians in executing against daily, weekly, and monthly targets and the overall culture and success scheduling, process development and maintenance, medication security, oversight of pharmacy technician team, and safe and accurate entry and dispensing of medications. You will be actively involved in the development and evolution of our operational policies and procedures related to prescription retrieval, processing, and dispensing. Your expertise and experience will assist in shaping the best practices that drive world class customer experience.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and set priorities for the daily operations of the department to ensure a safe and efficient pharmacy operation
  • Create and maintain the staff schedule and ensure adequate shift coverage and pharmacy to technician ratio in all areas of the pharmacy
  • Provide training, mentorship, direction, and performance reviews to direct reports
  • Order, receive, and stock medications in accordance with company policies as well as state and federal regulation
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugs
  • Oversee and execute the process of interacting with veterinarians in acquiring prescriptions, clarifying or modifying prescriptions, consulting on therapy considerations, and other clinical duties
  • Oversee the process of entering and/or review prescriptions with the highest degree of accuracy
  • Participate in Koala’s CQI program on the identification and remediation of prescription errors
  • Oversee the dispensing, reviewing, packaging, and shipping of  orders to customers 
  • Maintaining of proper prescription records
  • Assume responsibility as the pharmacist on duty when needed
  • Ensure compliance with all practice standards as well as all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

What you'll need:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy and other licensed jurisdictions
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List / free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
  • 4+ years of pharmacy experience with 1+ years in a leadership role
  • Preferred experience in a mail-order pharmacy setting
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks and conflicting requirements with acute attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify gaps in complex workflows
  • Ability to lead prioritize in a rapidly evolving startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of appropriate clinical resources and pharmacy operations
  • Highly organized, self-starter capable of working independently
  • Innovative approach to creating new and optimal operational processes
  • Team-oriented and collaborative leadership style
