You will be working alongside a team of staff in one of our Learning Disability Day Service bases in Bury, with usual hours of work between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday on a casual basis, covering in the main for holidays and sickness. The role is flexible, so you can decide when you work.
As a support worker you will be responsible for supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to do activities they choose, either in groups or on an individual basis. This post is a physical job where there is a requirement to move and position people (also called moving and handling), support people with personal care, help people who use wheelchairs to manoeuvre indoors and out in the community, support people to use public transport and to do wider community activities such as swimming, voluntary work, dance sessions and sports.
