The role
In order to deploy autonomous vehicles in a busy, complex commercial setting we have to leverage and successfully integrate many technologies. The Sensors & Integration team within the Perception organization plays a key role in developing our solution. As a Software Engineer on the team you will participate across the stack, writing software to process sensor data, deploy machine-learning algorithms and integrate perception resources into the larger Outrider solution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Debug & triage sensor driver software and configuration across multiple sensing modalities
- Evaluate candidate sensor units and make recommendations about selection, placement and use
- Integrate sensor software and data with vehicle stack
- Write clean, performant, testable code
- Assist other groups within the perception team with algorithm implementation and code deployment
- Perform on-vehicle testing and data collection as necessary
- Translate machine learning features to run in a hardware-accelerated environment on-vehicle
- Manage deployment and dependencies of perception software on-vehicle
- Work onsite at Outrider facility in Brighton, CO as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Skilled with modern C++ and python
- Experience with ROS and other robotics middleware
- Comfortable working on Linux
- Excellent communication

Extras
- Experience with data compression, network traffic analysis, Docker, Buildroot, TensorRT, CUDA and/or Nvidia DriveWorks
- Commercial experience with autonomous ground vehicles
- Hands-on experience working with automotive-grade sensors
- Graduate degree(s) in robotics or related fields
