People Technology- Sr. Software Engineer - Workday Developer

Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer role is for a self-motivated individual with excellent software engineering skills on Workday platforms. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining various critical integrations with multiple systems. You will be working closely with business on various requirements and ensure a strong partnership with all stakeholders. This role is for an individual whose experience with software development forms a strong basis for designing scalable and resilient integration that ensures highest quality and availability.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior SW Engineer, design, enhance and build our HR platform in an agile development environment.
  • Play part of multiple teams tasked with multiple projects ranging from building Custom Workday reports and calculated fields, BIRT Layout designs, Studio Integrations, EIB inbound and outbound integrations to highly functional, secure, scalable, and resilient real time Workday enhancements.
  • Work on unit testing, code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA
  • Have total ownership of the solutions we provide for our HR and Learning customers making availability, performance, security, and reliability critical to our success.
  • Adhere to SDLC governance framework.
  • Engage with product managers, design team, and users to ensure that the right learning platforms and content providers are available and accessible to Visa employees and clients around the world.
  • Provide technical leadership and partner with technology groups such as Engineering, Network, Security, and Infrastructure on project delivery activities.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing integrations to ensure they are functioning optimally.
  • Ensure highest level of Engineering and Operational Excellence following Visa’s core principles.
  • Participate in vendor assessments and selection.
  • Participate in various security assessment exercise with close coordination with Visa's Cyber Security Team.
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and fast paced environment to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
• 5 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of work experience with an Advanced degree.
• Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, calculated fields, and advanced custom reports).
• Familiarity with utilizing Workday API documentation to build technical design documentation for both Workday integrations, Production Support teams, and for non-Workday technical teams.
• Capable of diagnosing system errors from log files and translating into technical errors into business actions.
• Workday Core Connector and Effective Change Interface experience is required (CCW, CCB, WECI, PECI, PICOF)
• Experience custom report layouts using BIRT and RaaS reports based on business requirements and wireframes.

Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of work experience
• Experience on Workday Extend platform will be a plus.
• Experience on Full Stack development platform (.Net, C#, SQL, Visual Studio/Code, SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, JSON, and API) will be a plus.
• Working experience on JIRA tool and Agile methodology.
• Experience working/communicating effectively with diverse business and IT staff in multiple locations and in a multinational environment is very strongly preferred
• Proven experience in eliciting and elaborating business requirements, drafting system design specifications, and developing technical solutions
• Strong follow-through, ability to drive to closure and resolution of complex system issues. Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to absorb, analyze, and understand new information, technologies, and practices quickly
• Active listener, quick learner, customer focused, relationship builder, team player.
