Role at a Glance

The People Partner is responsible for scaling the People function and driving business outcomes in a high-growth, startup environment. Alongside the People Team and Business partners, you will focus on building and delivering smart processes that enable growth, learning and development, foster and grow Gecko’s culture, and ensure compliance.

Gecko’s People Partner is someone who loves to build things from the ground up and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. You will work in collaboration with the People Ops team to build a people infrastructure and execute plans and strategies across all departments. These strategies will help drive organizational and cultural change while managing the delivery of People Ops services to all employees. You will act as a strategic thought partner and a champion of Gecko’s values and culture as we continue to grow and retain world-class talent.  You are a leader, collaborator and are able to influence others into action and encourage a creative approach to problem solving and finding solutions. You thrive in both big-picture and small details and are excited to use data to inform decisions for Gecko. You have a genuine passion for the mission and our business objectives, and are excited to help deliver meaningful outcomes that will further the business and our teams’ growth. What you will do

  • Deep involvement in the performance management process (performance review process, 360 reviews, 1:1's, etc). 
  • Manage and develop a People Ops team including our benefits and payroll specialist and global mobility specialist.
  • Gecko Rewards and Recognition: Ensure we are keeping a pulse on market trends in tandem with Geckos needs; communicating essential information with Geckos, and employee recognition programs.
  • Compensation & Benchmarking: Partner with the Director of People to create benchmarking libraries and stay up to date on compensation changes in the competitive labor market. Conducts salary market research, analyzes compensation, monitors performance evaluation program, and assists management with compensation adjustments.
  • Drive implementation and adoption of key people analytics to help drive thoughtful, data-driven people decisions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of Geckos, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance across all existing operations.
  • Consistently evaluate and update our knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Lead learning and development initiatives to ensure growth and Gecko’s development.
  • Develop and maintain performance management and performance review cycles. Provide assistance to employees and supervisors with questions and workplace problems.
  • Engagement, Culture, and Values:  Partner with colleagues to generate useful data and translate it into a customized plan with manageable actions for individual managers and departments.
  • Guide leaders and employees through performance-related challenges with team members.
  • Continually reviews and recommends improvements to employee policies and procedures.
  • Manage information systems and processes for onboarding, performance management, compensation adjustments, promotions, professional development, and off-boarding.
  • Train and assist department managers in best practices for managing people, such as leading effective one-on-ones, employee development, learning and development programs and opportunities, performance reviews, employee relations, etc.
  • Champion Gecko’s culture. Regularly evaluates culture and recommends strategies for building, managing and improving.

About You

Required Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability and interest to be a problem solver and talent developer 
  • General HR Law knowledge
  • Ability to gain buy-in and influence people
  • Ability to create thoughtful, scalable processes
  • Experience with employee relations dispute and complaint resolution
  • Ability to critically evaluate processes and systems
  • 3 years of HR lead, HRBP, or management experience
  • Previous hyper growth company experience
  • Experience at a company with strong learning and development and culture 
  • Ability to be in the office 3 or more days per week

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • PHR or SHRM-CP is nice to have
  • Payroll and benefits experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Immigration requirements is preferred but not required

NYC Pay Transparency Disclosure:

Salary Range: $120,000-$220,000 annually plus equity and perks.

This salary range is based on the current available market data, and represents the expected salary range for this role. Gecko Robotics has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
