DESCRIPTION:

As a People Operations Manager, you will ensure the successful delivery of our People Operations in Spain, the UK, France and Germany to enhance our 40+ employees’ experience.  You will also hone your business partner skills, by building a strong partnership with the predominantly scientific and engineering profiles composing Aetion's diverse and international talent.

Reporting to the EU People Director in Barcelona, you will work closely with the People team based in NY/Boston, to contribute to the development and implementation of a global people strategy, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities and topics, from daily HR operations to project management and from employee engagement to HR compliance aspects.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

HR Operations

  • Supervise and manage the onboarding (from contracting to day-1) and exit processes in collaboration with managers as well as external service providers in Spain, the UK, France and Germany.
  • Coordinate the monthly and yearly payroll processes with external service providers in Spain and the UK.
  • Guide employees in their HR-related questions.
  • Provide legal guidance to the business regarding labor regulations in Spain.
  • Coordinate with selected external agencies the work-permit and relocation processes.
  • Act as the point of contact with external labor, risk prevention services, and with the Private Insurance provider, to implement the required policies and activities.
  • Manage the Time Attendance System and ensure compliant working time tracking for Spain-based employees.
  • Update company policies and/or protocols when necessary.

HR Business Partners

  • Accompany business leaders on talent management, performance management (including yearly review process), compensation review process, and all things people-related.
  • Support employee development and growth: Meet (career interviews, 90-days checks-in), Consider (Talent Identification and Assessment), Value and develop talents to help them reach their full potential.
  • Craft programs and processes, in line with the global People Team agenda, and deliver results in the following activities :
  • Creating initiatives to drive performance,
  • Supporting the acceleration of the local business growth
  • Sustain and improve the organization's culture and goals.
  • Act as a bridge between the global People Team and the rest of the Barcelona/international team, ensuring smooth and effective communication.
  • Create activities and initiatives that foster an inspiring, engaging culture and a unique employee experience.

QUALIFICATIONS*

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Human Resources
  • 7+ years experience in Talent Management developed in an international setting, across geographies.
  • Proven experience in managing HR Operations in Spain (payroll, working time tracking, flexible retribution, etc.), with a deep knowledge of labor law requirements in the country.
  • People-centered, first and foremost. Passionate about aligning talents with business strategy and imperatives.
  • Ability to provide advice and direction to internal stakeholders regarding talent development programs and HR guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create content and to animate meetings.
  • Fluent English and Spanish proficiency, French language is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management skills are a plus.
  • Able to be both strategic and operational. Action and result orientated.
  • Contribute to team success by actively participating as a member of the team toward the completion of collective goals.
