Role Overview

Reporting directly into the People Operations Manager, we are seeking a People Operations Coordinator (Part-Time) based in NYC to join our People Team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR and administrative functions, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both employees and candidates. This role involves handling a wide range of responsibilities such as employment verifications, offer letter preparation, resume review, interview coordination, office operations management, and participation in ad hoc HR projects. Please note, this part-time opportunity will be based on-site at our NYC office location in Flatiron.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct employment verifications and background checks for new hires, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations

  • Collaborate with the People Team to draft offer letters, wage notices, and other employment agreements associated with onboarding, offboarding, and promotions

  • Review incoming resumes and applications, passing along resumes that fit the requirements of the role to the hiring manager

  • Assist in coordinating interviews, liaising with hiring managers and candidates to schedule interview times, prepare interview materials, and facilitate a smooth interview process

  • In partnership with the People Operations Manager, manage the ordering and inventory of office supplies, ensuring that the workplace is adequately equipped for a productive and comfortable environment

  • Provide administrative support to the People Team, including data entry, maintaining employee records, and generating HR-related reports.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes, suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team

  • Participate in ad hoc HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and process improvement efforts

  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee and candidate information

  • Stay up-to-date with HR best practices and industry trends, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills

What We’re Looking For 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all HR-related documents and communications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, candidates, and external partners

  • Proficiency in using HR software (or the desire to learn), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Google Suite.

  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to team success and take initiative

  • High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality

  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations is a plus

  • Passion for creating a positive employee experience and contributing to a thriving workplace culture

  • Physical demands associated with this position include standing, walking, carrying, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

  • The anticipated compensation for this role is $23-$25 per hour. Expected part-time hours range from 10-20 hours per week in accordance with business need at the discretion of the People Operations Manager. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
