As a People Generalist at xAI, you will be given the opportunity to partner with some of the most talented professionals in the world: executing people strategies to retain talent, coaching employees and managers on HR policies and guidelines and working to ensure the xAI mission is a constant reality for all employees. We serve as trusted professionals providing guidance and feedback to our client groups, driving efficiencies and best practices in a highly dynamic and fast-paced organization.
The ideal candidate has experience wearing multiple hats and working in a fast paced environment supporting non-exempt production employees. Availability, flexibility, and adaptability are the keys to success for this role.
This is an in-person role based in Memphis, TN that requires up to 10% travel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the HR business partner to xAI's data center employees
- Administer the Memphis workers compensation program
- Manage the Memphis talent pipeline and serve as a full-cycle recruiter for all job requisitions
- Create and schedule travel itineraries, including flight, hotel, and rental car, for candidates and xAI employees as needed
- Manage corporate apartments and company accommodations
- Schedule onsite interviews, give candidates world-class tours, and escort candidates to and from interviews
- Manage the onboarding and off-boarding process for Memphis employees
- Adjudicate background check results for incoming new-hires
- Process HR information system (Rippling) transactions
- Monitor and respond to correspondence in the Memphis HR slack and email channels
- Work with managers and employees to address issues and concerns where judgment is required
- Interpret and enforce company policies and provide coaching to managers on all aspects of leadership and employee/labor relations
- Assist with the development and facilitation of various training initiatives predicated on business needs and corporate goals
- Manage and perform initial investigations of employee complaints and alleged policy violations, escalating where necessary
- Research and respond to initial unemployment requests for data as well as scheduling and notifying participants of upcoming hearings
- Apply analytical skills to collect and synthesize data, tell the story and formulate recommendations based on data trends and insights
- Conduct employee investigations, separations, and exit interviews
- Assist with other HR and recruiting initiatives and projects as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field
- 3+ years of employee relations experience in a production environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a startup-like environment
- Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and with little direction
- Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks
- Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
- An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: $110,000 - $135,000 per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at xAI.
