Why Agoda People Data and Solutions Team?

As a People Data Solutions Manager in the People Team at Agoda, you will be pivotal in enhancing our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability and performance of SQL databases, and setting best practices. You’ll collaborate closely with business partners to develop solutions that support Agoda’s dynamic growth and data-driven culture.

 

In this Role, you will get to

  • Lead enhancements in MS SQL database performance, including scalability, and efficiency
  • Foster team development and enhance collective expertise by leading knowledge-sharing sessions, creating templates and providing mentorship in data best practices
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and efficient data solutions, adhering to industry standards and fostering a collaborative environment for team improvement
  • Expertise in managing, integrating, and optimizing datasets across multiple platforms and formats. Strong understanding of best practices for database design and data normalization to address issues of redundant data

What You’ll need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Information Systems/Engineering/related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Dev Ops, data engineering or similar role
  • Proficiency in SQL database design, ETL processes, and SQL performance tuning
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues within a production environment, with a strong emphasis on logical analysis and troubleshooting
  • A good understanding of data architecture principles
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on streamlining operations, enhancing performance, and ensuring data integrity
  • Ability to assess the current technological landscape, plan for future needs, including addressing developer debt, and strategize on mitigating space limitations

It’s great if you have

  • Experience working with Python, Talend and Tableau
  • Working in an agile environment using test driven methodologies
  • Experience with data management and governance initiatives to uphold data quality by developing scalable systems, enforcing standards, automating processes, and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy
