About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and organized People & Culture Generalist to support initiatives that build an inclusive and engaging workplace where employees can thrive. This role focuses on strengthening company culture, ensuring employees feel valued and motivated, while also contributing to P&C operations, compliance, and health and safety efforts to enhance the overall employee experience.
Here's how you'll make an impact:
Design and implement programs and initiatives to boost employee connectedness and morale, including virtual, in-person, and hybrid events, milestone and service awards, and team-building activities.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in employee engagement and experience to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Ensure all employee events and engagement initiatives are inclusive and accessible to employees across locations and work environments.
Track and analyze key employee engagement metrics (e.g., event participation, satisfaction scores) to evaluate the impact of initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
Partner with the Senior Communications Advisor to send employee communications for events, wave-anniversary and various holidays throughout the year.
Collect and act on employee feedback to continuously improve engagement and morale.
Contribute to the development and execution of our employee experience strategy.
Support People & Culture (P&C) initiatives focused on belonging and employee well-being.
Manage the ordering and distribution of employee swap and new hire kits to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
Support the P&C Operations Specialist with orientation, acting as a backup as required.
Oversee the health and safety program, conducting monthly inspections and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Serve as a worker member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and maintain JHSC certification
Manage and respond to employee inquiries through the Help channel and HR inbox.
Maintain the P&C events calendar to ensure smooth execution of key initiatives.
You Thrive Here By Possessing the Following:
Post-secondary education in HR or a related field.
3 years of previous HR experience or related experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Previous experience in employee engagement, events, or program coordination.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to act with empathy.
Process-oriented
Strong organization, prioritization and attention to detail skills
Process-driven with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously
Strong presentation skills
Upholds a high level of integrity and ethical conduct in HR practices
Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive HR information and situations.
Ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities
Aptitude for learning
Experience in health and safety is an asset
Note: Wave functions as a remote-first company. This role may require you to be in the office up to 1-2 days per week
