Payroll & Process Specialist

As a member of the Global Workforce Operations team, the Payroll & Process Specialist is responsible for executing primarily on Payroll, Data & Reporting, and other HR services, applying an in-depth understanding of relevant systems, processes and policies. This role requires emphasis on data integrity and analysis to support key HR decisions. Identify and resolve operational issues and support process improvement. The Payroll & Process Specialist will assist with reconciling third party systems against internal HR systems. The position will ensure the integrity of the employee data which resides in the payroll, PeopleSoft and other systems.

This is a hybrid role and requires 1 day per week (Tuesday) to be in our Painesville, OH location. Hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operation of payroll related tasks, working closely with Avery Dennison’s outsourced payroll partner(s), ensuring quality inputs and outputs
  • Support local HR, managers and employees with payroll and HR processes
  • Research routine payroll and timekeeping issues. Provide resolution to payroll team, HR, and department leadership
  • Drive increased productivity and compliance through process improvements, standardization and simplification with external partners and businesses
  • Partnering with Finance and ensuring that payments (salaries, statutory and third-party) are executed accurately and within the required timeframes.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality to ensure compliance with relevant legal and Avery Dennison policy requirements
  • Develop effective collaborations through strong interpersonal skills and proactive communication
  • Provide ad-hoc operational support for assigned processes
  • Ensures efficiency of the technology in the support of employee transaction processes
  • Handles internal and external audit work and maintains compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls where applicable
  • Ensures payroll and associated processed are delivered accurately and on time, every time.
  • Degree from a relevant field of study or equivalent knowledge or experience in HR/payroll (3-5 years); experience with payroll processing in multi-state preferred.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrable ability to organize and analyze data

  • Maintains confidentiality and applies discretion where required

  • Service oriented and passionate about improving the employee experience
