Creative Corrections is recruiting for a Payroll Clerk/HR Specialist position that will be reporting directly to the Accounting Department. The Payroll Clerk/HR Specialist will provide excellent support in a corporate environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk/HR Specialist to join our team. This dual-role position combines payroll processing responsibilities with essential human resources duties. The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll operations, supporting HR initiatives, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with team members.
Key Responsibilities: 
Payroll Duties: 
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP.
  • Track and maintain employee PTO accruals and balances in ADP.
  • Audit contractor expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
  • Update and manage employee records, including address changes, direct deposit information, and tax withholdings.
  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll documentation for audits and internal reviews.
  • Utilize QuickBooks for payroll-related data entry and reconciliation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
HR Duties: 
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job openings.
  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including orientation, paperwork, and training schedules.
  • Maintain and update employee files, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees.
  • Track and ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Assist with employee relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with performance review processes and maintain documentation of employee evaluations.
  • Proactively assist colleagues and contribute to team tasks during downtime.
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, accounting, or a related field preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk, HR Specialist, or in a similar dual-role position.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Proficiency in ADP payroll systems and familiarity with QuickBooks.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office365 applications, specifically Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Adobe.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in both payroll and HR responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
