We're searching for a mid-level Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract (February through October 2025) to cover maternity leave. As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will carry out the activities relating to the company payroll, benefits and employee of record (EOR). You will be responsible for timely and accurate payroll data to include the complete processing of the payroll systems for all employees in Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. Also, you will be responsible for benefits enrollment and paperwork which includes auditing/ verifying invoices for all benefits vendors, and also will be the bridge between EOR vendors and the local/ regional HR and finance personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll:
- Verifying timesheets for casual employees in Deputy (For Australia)
- Administering employee information to ADP for payroll processing
- Liaising with ADP representative on payroll changes
- Reviewing of payroll reports generated by ADP
- Work with Finance to process salary payment to employees
- Ensure proper withholding and remittance to appropriate agencies.
- Prepare and submit monthly payroll journals for all entities to Finance Team
- Prepare required monthly, bi-annual and annual tax reports for tax submission
- Work with HR Generalist in attending to payroll related queries
- Assist with annual audits ensuring relevant HR and payroll data provided in a timely manner
- Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with Local/Regional HR Generalists to improve payroll processes.
Benefits:
- Recommends benefits programs to management by studying employee requirements, trends, and developments in benefits offered by other organizations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
- Supports management’s decision-making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs.
- Identifies benefit options by studying programs and obtaining advice from consultants.
- Informs employees of benefit usage by preparing and distributing benefit reports.
- Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations.
EOR Management:
- Assist to bridge communication between Deel and HR Team in APJ
- Forwarding Deel monthly invoice to HR Generalist for verification and Finance to process payment
- Assist employees to expedite enquiries on Deel related issues and follow up to ensure closure in enquiry raised
- Support other regions on Deel matters when required
- Liaise with ATA on employment matters such as work pass renewal and salary matters for Foreign Employees in Thailand
- Verify ATA invoices for salary processing
Special Projects:
- Supports regional and global payroll projects to enhance payroll service delivery and improved employee experience
- Support HR special projects, such as benefits benchmarking exercises and implementation of benefits for EOR employees
- Support the roll-out and transition of ADP to new payroll service provider
Requirements
What You Need:
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, including handling casual employee payroll systems (Deputy) and using payroll software (preferably ADP).
- Strong understanding of tax compliance, payroll reporting, and processing salary payments, with experience preparing tax reports and working with Finance teams.
- 2-3 years of experience administering employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Familiarity with managing Employer of Record (EOR) services, including liaising with providers like Deel and handling international employment matters.
- Proven ability to support payroll and HR projects, including system transitions and benefits implementation.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams (HR, Finance, external providers).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experienced with HRIS and payroll systems.
