Position Summary

As a Payments Risk Controls Manager, you will lead and oversee all financial operations within the department to ensure adherence to procedures, KPIs, and budgetary guidelines. Your role will involve strategic oversight, performance monitoring, and process optimization to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

You will be required to be up to date with industry practices/regulations, identify risk areas, propose improvements in current set up, lead cost optimization projects and coordinate action items relevant to payments risk management set up with other departments. 

You will be located in Athens and will be part of the Etraveli Group Fintech department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the accounting operations of the Payments Risk Management department to ensure accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
  • Perform account reconciliations relevant to the Payments Risk Management department.
  • Ensure costs relevant to the Payments Risk Management department are constantly updated in internal systems.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and performance evaluation, supporting month-end processes.
  • Analyze costs and profits, monitor and report department’s KPIs and drive performance improvements.
  • Lead recurring cost controls by validating and reconciling invoices received from partners, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Propose and lead process/tool improvements in order to maximize efficiency and cost benefits.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure all processes/guidelines are followed.
  • Manage large amounts of data in order to identify areas of risk, initiate ad-hoc analysis and build models to quantify and assess situations.
  • Perform weekly/monthly analysis to ensure set KPI benchmarks are met and provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-functional projects across the company to achieve KPI improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance or Economics, with a specialized emphasis of business operations.
  • 2-3  years of working experience in a similar managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial data analysis
  • Experience/knowledge of the digital payments and risk management area will be considered a plus.
  • Experience in large data analysis under a top down/bottom up approach.
  • Advanced experience with MS office (especially excel)/ Familiar with reporting solutions (e.g. Qlikview, Looker, Python etc) will be highly appreciated.
  • Strong numerical & organizational skills combined with business understanding.
  • Data driven/360 view thinking along with strong critical, analytical and investigation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple projects under a minimum supervision and honor deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership in a fast growing environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, can-do approach & excellent command of the English language.
  • High level of responsibility & integrity combined with eagerness to work in a multicultural, international environment subject to continuous changes.
