Position Overview

As a Payments Disputes Specialist you will be managing the whole process of investigating disputed credit and/or debit card transactions as well as legal claims and taking suitable actions to resolve those disputes/claims. Besides being in contact with the payment service providers, you will be also interacting with external partners and other departments making sure to address the disputes/claims in the most efficient way, while maintaining a good customer experience. This role should be up to date with the latest scheme rules, regulations and local laws (depending on the market) and propose potential improvements in current processes.

The payments disputes’ resolution team is part of the Payments Risk Management team in the Fintech Department. The position will be based in Athens, Greece.

Responsibilities

  • Manage legal claims sent by respective authorities.
  • Communicate with the company's lawyers, external partners and customers to resolve filed claims.
  • Manage dispute reports sent by payment service providers.
  • Communicate with payment service providers and customers to resolve filed disputes.
  • Cooperate with Customer Services to manage disputed reservations.
  • Be constantly updated with scheme rules, regulations, local laws (depending on the market) and best practices.
  • Perform the data entry of relevant information in the company's databases/tools.
  • Insert records of disputes/claims in other systems (accounting).
  • Handle providers’ reports and follow-up on financial losses related to disputed reservations.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, preferably from a Brazilian University
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with MS office (especially Excel, Word)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills 
  • Data-driven approach along with strong critical, analytical and investigation skills
  • Ability to act proactively, take initiatives and demonstrate a can-do attitude focusing on producing high quality results within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and navigate through multiple systems and processes
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • High level of responsibility & integrity combined with eagerness to work in a multicultural, international environment subject to continuous changes
  • Previous experience in practicing Law and/or handling disputes will be considered a plus.
