Summary of the role
The Payment Operations Manager will be accountable for our operating relationships with safeguarding partners (such as JP Morgan, the Bank of England, the Bank of Lithuania) and schemes (such as pay.uk (FPS and Bacs) and SEPA), with a focus on building and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, enhancing scheme liaison, and supporting regulatory changes within Payment Operations.
The role involves educating and promoting the team's work across the organisation, influencing continuous improvement through automation, and defining robust processing solutions. Collaborating with internal product and technical engineering teams is key to ensure delivery. An equally important aspect of your role is to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders at the scheme level, to ensure that operational solutions remain robust, resilient, and compliant. Modulr has an office-first policy as face-to-face and ad hoc collaboration will maximise our ability to meet our ambitious growth and profitability goals. In practise we expect our colleagues to be in-office at least 4 days per week.
Specific duties:
You will assist the Head of Payment Operations, and the wider team ensuring they are set up for success, by managing access and client money controls, driving efficiencies, and supporting technical delivery. You will be a key contributor in improving our client experience and promoting excellence.
Work with and support key stakeholders including Treasury Operations; Financial Control; Payment Product Managers; Customer Support and Onboarding; Legal and Compliance and the Leadership team (in particular the CEO, CFO and COO).

About you
You will be a self-motivated, proactive, and organised individual with a deep understanding of UK domestic and international payment processing. In this role, you will represent Modulr at various scheme forums and promptly complete all assigned actions and reports.
