The Role
We are looking for a Payment Exceptions Supervisor to innovate and grow with us in Portsmouth, NH/Hybrid or Remote on EST and CST Time Zones in the U.S.
The Payment Exceptions Supervisor is a Full-Time permanent position that will oversee the Payment Exceptions and International teams, including the team that handles misdirected payments. The Supervisor will manage and escalate all issues related to USD and International payment exceptions. The Supervisor will also provide support to the Operations Specialists for tasks related to NOCs, returns, collections, misdirected payments, stop pays, etc.
How you’ll contribute:
- Monitor the collections process for failed debits and misdirected payments
- Monitor the returns, NOCs, cancelled payments, and reversal/debit request processes to ensure timely SLAs are met
- Approve SLA extensions and debits to Vendors accounts based on research
- Work closely with Production Support to prioritize relative enhancements and tickets
- Work closely with the Direct of Payments Operations to compile monthly metrics for reporting
- Participate in subject matter level testing for future Paymode-X releases
- Manage all bank contact and escalation lists and telephone VRU access for control totals
- Provide supervision and support to the team of Operation Specialists and International Specialists that handles all payment exceptions

- 5+ years of Treasury, Cash Management, Operations
- Demonstrated understanding of electronic payment processing
- Demonstrated understanding of collections processes and acumen
- Experience processing domestic and international transactions
- Prior experience managing small teams
- Experience with NACHA rules and regulations
- Strong PC skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional skills in MS Excel
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to move between interaction with senior management and bank executives to supervision of department tasks
- Ability to partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to support optimal collaborative efforts
- Ability to conceptualize problems and solutions and recommendations to Product Management
- Sense of urgency and drive to meet goals
- High emphasis on attention to detail
- Prior experience in cash operations or payment processing a PLUS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or related experience
