We are seeking a Patient Engagement Specialist to join our team. You will play a key role in connecting insurance plan members with vital healthcare services. Using outbound calls, texts, and emails, you will engage patients to schedule telehealth appointments for wellness visits, including adult, postpartum, and pediatric care. The goal is to bridge gaps in care, ensuring patients utilize the resources available through their insurance coverage.
How you will make an impact
- Conduct outreach to patients in Ohio, Georgia, and Indiana, encouraging them to schedule wellness visits through telehealth.
- Assist with scheduling appointments with healthcare providers, especially for underserved or migrant populations.
- Educate patients on the benefits of their insurance coverage, promoting overall health and well-being for adults, mothers, and children.
- Handle multiple outreach campaigns via phone, email, and text, with flexibility for inbound communication.
- Manage inbound patient inquiries and maintain inbox communication, ensuring timely responses.
- Work full-time, with the flexibility to accommodate Eastern Time Zone schedules and potential weekend hours.
- Achieve daily call volume targets and meet outreach goals set by the program.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation, goal setting, and time management skills.
- Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills to facilitate high rates of telehealth appointment scheduling.
- Build positive, professional relationships with team members and across the organization.
- Utilize technology proficiently, managing outreach and tracking tools effectively.
- Engage respectfully with patients of all educational backgrounds, ensuring a positive and informative conversation.
What we are looking for
- High school diploma or GED required; a degree in healthcare, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 + years of experience in customer service, telemarketing, or healthcare outreach.
- Experience in patient engagement, insurance, or telehealth services is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to engage effectively with patients and providers.
- Ability to meet and exceed daily call volume targets.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance plans and patient care coordination is highly desirable.
- Proficient in the use of computers, email, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.
- Ability to work full-time and flexible hours, including some weekends, covering Eastern Time Zone shifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-motivation.
