    • Hourly Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 Depending on Experience

Position Overview: The Patient Access Team Lead supports the team as the first line of contact for staff and serves as back-up to the scheduling needs of the department. They assist in overseeing the day-to day operations to ensure performance goals are met. The Team Lead assists in identifying and supporting coaching opportunities along with coordinating staff training needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the first line of contact for the Patient Access staff. Responds timely to process questions, provides feedback and coaching when necessary.
  • Assists Patient Access Supervisor in overseeing the day-to-day responsibilities of the Patient Intake staff. To include reporting, monitoring calls, telephony, and work queues to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Timely and effectively solve patient and provider inquiries, issues, and complaints.
  • Assists leadership in implementing and supporting process changes or efficiencies
  • Accurately documents patient or client comprehensive demographic, health information and referral details into the electronic health record system.
  • Supports the Patient Access Department with scheduling of appointments, processing referrals/authorizations and taking incoming calls in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Meets established Patient Access Department metrics and quality goals.

Supervisory or Managerial Responsibility: 

  • None

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in Health Administration or related field preferred
  • Three years healthcare experience required. Previous team lead experience in healthcare or call center preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance or medical billing preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Continually required to sit. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Continually required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move more than 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
