We are currently seeking a talented and team-oriented Summer Intern – Patent Prosecution. The ideal candidate will be excited to help grow a rapidly expanding global patent portfolio for this highly innovative company. This is an opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative, world-class team with a mission to change the face of metal parts manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Intellectual Property Manager with drafting and prosecution of patent applications before USPTO and international patent offices.
  • Develop understanding of in-house intellectual property management and processes and working with outside counsel.
  • Research and understand recent developments in US and international patent law and summarize for an internal audience.
  • Perform ad-hoc landscaping and research projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree with a physics, engineering or law focus .
  • Some experience in patent law either through coursework or studying for the patent bar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and express complex legal and technical material quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience or coursework in additive manufacturing, materials science, or industrial engineering is a plus.

Completion of first or second year at an ABA accredited law school and/or USPTO registration
