Our business is comprised of two entities.

Skyports Drone Services where we use drone technology to enable businesses to develop their logistics, capture key data, and improve operational efficiency. We are active in the rural deliveries, survey, surveillance and maritime verticals.

Skyports Infrastructure where we play a critical role in the Urban Air Mobility ecosystem; designing, building, owning, and operating vertiports that enable eVTOL operators to take off and land in and around cities across the world.

Role Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Partnerships & Acquisitions Manager – Japan to lead vertiport network planning, site acquisition, and partnership discussions in Japan. This will involve working closely with Skyports’ growing team and partners in country. Based in Japan (preferably Tokyo), the role will involve travel within Japan, and international travel, especially to regional headquarters in Singapore and global headquarters in London, UK.

 

  • Develop and execute on our infrastructure and vertiport rollout strategy with our partners in Japan.
  • Identify and secure sites using existing landlord contacts and establishing new ones.
  • Contribute to commercial agreements, including identifying, applying and executing on grant and government funding applications.
  • Work with planning and other regulatory authorities to secure permissions and consents.
  • Liaise with eVTOL vehicle manufacturers on infrastructure requirements.
  • Represent Skyports at meetings and events, including delivering presentations.
  • Advise the business on infrastructure matters from the Japanese market perspective.
  • Report to our Head of Asia Pacific based in Singapore and work closely with our vertiport planning and technology teams, based in London UK

Requirements

Candidate Profile

The ideal person for this position will have the following experiences and attributes:

 

Sector

A strong background in real estate and / or infrastructure business development and project management with a strong interest in aviation and new technology

 

Problem Solving

A highly motivated, proactive, self-starter and team-player who likes a challenge and has the ingenuity and resilience to find the solutions to overcome them.

Ability to problem solves on the fly; someone who can ask the questions that have not been asked and can find the answers too.

Being comfortable navigating through ambiguity as this is new industry and no one yet has all the answers.

 

Project Management

Proven ability to plan, lead and manage complex projects and concurrent work-streams across multiple business functions, many with tight deadlines and competing priorities.

Travel

Flexibility to travel.

 

Communication

Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Japanese and English language to execute on our infrastructure projects, and to build strong networks and relationships.
