To continue our success we're looking for an enthusiastic colleague, who is passionate and curious, to join our Application Laboratory team. As a Paper recycling laboratory Technologist you will support the team in the development and launch of label solutions for different applications and material innovations for the world's manufacturers, converters and consumers

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, document and support the set up of a dedicated laboratory space for paper-based products recycling and analysis;
  • Develop and implement SOP’s related to recycling tests;
  • Perform application laboratory tests of products under development;
  • Interpret and report data and other information of test;
  • Preparation of reports and information for internal and external customers;
  • Cooperation with the different colleagues and functions within all Avery divisions and external parties (i.e. Marketing, other areas of R&D, Suppliers/Customers);
  • Gauge, calibrate and maintain (small repairs and cleaning) of the equipment in order to generate high quality data and products;
  • Participate in product and process improvements by driving and executing new initiatives;
  • Observe safety and quality procedures, observe bottlenecks, make suggestions for improvement in order to secure the safety for oneself, staff and visitors and aim for a higher safety and client satisfaction.


 

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • Qualification: MLO/HLO/ BSc in a relevant science field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of work experience in a lab testing/ analysis environment in the paper or paper-based materials industry 
  • Prior experience with SOP administrative systems
  • Knowledge or experience with paper recycling processes is highly desirable (pulp disintegrator, fractionator, flotation cell, screener, hand sheet former)
  • Ability to manage projects in a highly organized manner
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across different departments
  • High level of accuracy
  • Proactive approach 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken, or the willingness to take a course to get to the required level)
