Job Description:
An Account Manager at Applied Controls is an automation focused, customer-facing outside role that has the primary responsibility of growing sales with our existing customers, generating business with new customers, and improving relationships with the manufacturers that we represent. The Account Manager uses a combination of commercial and technical competence to drive long-term, profitable relationships with our customers with a technical focus on PLCs, robotics, machine vision, safety, motion control, sensing, machine control, and data/visualization.
Responsibilities
- Proactive planning and execution of sales calls/customer visits
- Maintain an accurate forecast of your business potentials with your customers and the manufacturers we represent.
- Formal and self-guided product training
- Product selection – determining product compatibility.
- Quote generation and Sales Process Documentation
- Territory planning and overall business strategy planning
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a technical sales role, 3-5 years in a technical, engineering role considered.
- Experience with industrial automation, robotics, controls and related components is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or comparable real-world experience
