Spoonflower is seeking an experienced and passionate Owned Media Channel Manager to lead our organization and brand presence across organic social media and blog. This role is ideal for someone with a strategic mindset and strong creative instincts, who can develop and execute content that drives engagement, brand affinity, and community growth.
As the Owned Media Channel Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director of Brand Marketing, you will be responsible for managing Spoonflower’s objectives and presence on social media, guiding the crafting of innovative and impactful social content, aligned with our vision and initiatives. You will drive the seamless execution of campaigns across all owned media platforms to expand our brand reach and creative community globally, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for anyone interacting with Spoonflower across our owned media channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organic Social Media Management
- Lead and manage team members assign to owned media channels.
- Develop and execute the organic social media strategy across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) to build brand presence, engage the Spoonflower community, and grow our following, in support of Marketing Managers marketing plans.
- Manage a content calendar that aligns with product launches, seasonal themes, and brand initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze performance, adjusting strategies to optimize engagement and reach.
- Long-Form Content Creation for Blog
- Own the content strategy for the Spoonflower blog, creating articles that resonate with our audience and drive traffic, as they relate to and in support of marketing plans devised by Marketing Managers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (design, product, and marketing teams) and external partners (influencers, designers) to produce high-quality, informative, and inspiring content.
- Optimize blog posts for SEO and ensure they support Spoonflower’s positioning and voice.
- Short-Form Content Placement on Spoonflower.com
- Strategize and implement short-form content placement on the website to support key marketing objectives, such as new product launches and seasonal campaigns.
- Partner with web and design teams to create visually compelling, on-brand content blocks and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Cross-Channel Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the email marketing team to integrate social and blog content into broader brand campaigns.
- Partner with paid media teams to amplify high-performing organic content, building a cohesive brand narrative across all channels.
- Engage with customer service to address community feedback from owned channels in a timely, brand-aligned manner.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor KPIs for organic social, blog content, and on-site placements to measure impact and effectiveness, based on KPI guidelines provided.
- Provide monthly reports and insights to Leadership Team, sharing wins, challenges, and recommendations for future content.
SUGGESTED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, social media management, or digital marketing (experience in eCommerce, lifestyle, or home décor industries is a plus).
- Proven experience managing organic social media channels and creating engaging content that drives growth.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for compelling visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in social media and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Instagram Insights) and familiarity with SEO principles.
- A passion for creativity, design, and fostering community engagement.
- Experience working with a content management system (CMS), WordPress, etc....
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices.
