In this role you: will generate new business sales along with maintaining and building relationships with existing customers. Sales representatives are involved with the full sales cycle, calling on all buying influences including engineering, purchasing, quality assurance as well as senior management to generate opportunities and present pricing proposals. Must execute sales plan through interaction with customers, prospects, sustaining long-term relationships with key accounts and furthering Electro-Matic’s growth and development of an assigned territory.
This position can be home based in or around Tampa, FL or Miami, FL.
Experience, Education and Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four-year Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of outside sales experience within industrial automation or closely related industry / products.
- Experience with Siemens products is preferred.
- A Valid Driver's License in good standing is required.
- Occasional out-of-town travel required.
- Travel may include overnight stays, weekend assignments, and international opportunities.

Essential Functions
- Manage existing accounts to increase sales revenue in alignment with overall goals.
- Sustain long-term relationships with key individuals in key accounts.
- Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on new leads.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and presents sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Forecasts future business.
- Works with the Inside Sales Team Customer Service Representatives to facilitate customer requirements.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Maintain detailed information on projects, quotes, samples and any other sales related information. This Information will be used to generate sales forecasts and discussed in monthly reviews with Sales Management and Manufacturing Representatives.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Customer at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality and senior management.
- Attends and conducts business at trade shows.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
- Responsible for the growth and development of the assigned markets and achieves assigned sales goals.
- Monitor sales budgets for travel and entertainment expenses.
- Prepares expense reports and maintains expense budget requirements.
