POSITION SUMMARY:
Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts is seeking a part-time (15-20 hours/week) organizing intern. The intern would train under Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts organizing staff while working on PPAF endorsed political campaigns, learning about grassroots organizing, movement building, and volunteer management. The intern will learn how organizing is conducted throughout Massachusetts while acquiring significant communication and leadership experience. This internship is ideal for candidates interested in sexual and reproductive health care issues and the political process.
Responsibilities:
Develop advocacy materials
Support in volunteer recruitment
Organize, participate and lead door knocking and phone banks
Assist in preparing and creating materials for organizing events
Train volunteers and develop organizing systems
Data entry
Qualifications:
An interest in sexual and reproductive issues and politics
Passionate about grassroots organizing and movement building
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite required
Experience working with NGP VAN preferred
Valid driver’s license and access to a car
Reliable and self-motivated
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Flexibility, initiative, creative thinking, and a willingness to learn required
Some night and weekend hours required
Experience working in a team environment
