Optical Technician (Technicien Optique)

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician that will be able to assemble and test electronic/optical/mechanical components. The ideal candidate would have experience in handling miniature devices and performing testing of microelectronics or optical components.

Regardless of role or team, we look for candidates with positive energy as well as the ability to independently orient themselves in an unstructured environment and follow through on problems that need to be solved.

Role responsibilities:

  • Laboratory works consisting of handling, processing and assembly of small electronic, optical and mechanical component products
  • Testing of parts or assemblies under optical and/or electrical benches against detailed work instructions
  • Visual inspection of microelectronic parts under high magnification microscopes,
  • Working closely with engineers on production issues,
  • Support quality for production related tasks such as incoming inspections or stock entry/shipments when required
  • Rigorous documentation of all performed tasks in quality records.

Key qualifications:

  • Technician diploma or similar,
  • Very good handling skills,
  • Experience in a regulated industry, e.g. medical, pharmaceutical or automobile
  • Ability to understand and follow written procedures and document manufacturing operations in dedicated forms in French and preferably also in English.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High attention to detail when carrying out manual tasks

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Full professional proficiency in English
