ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of additional funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on the availability of resources.
 

POSITION SUMMARY:

World Relief seeks an Operations Specialist, Regional for World Relief Chicagoland. This position provides support for maximizing World Relief Chicagoland’s resources to optimize its daily operations. Support includes administrative tasks like phone maintenance, business card management and email address management. This position also provides vehicle booking and maintenance support for the staff and interns of the DuPage and Aurora offices and ensures that vehicles are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Note: This position will report to all 3 offices (Aurora, Carol Stream, and Chicago).


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative Assistance:
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Assist with interpreters’ orientation as needed
  • Prepare ID badges and office desk signs.
  • Coordinate employee business card development and ordering
  • Manage Chicagoland Staff Directory, including quarterly distribution to staff
  • Liaison for cell phone distribution and portal maintenance
  • Maintain WR email accounts and Distribution lists.
  • Assist with short term projects as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Develop, implement, and improve transportation policies and procedures
  • Process transportation documentation and monitor drivers' logbook entries
  • Manage vehicle booking software to coordinate vehicle reservation and usage
  • Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs of vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and safety
  • Monitor compliance with WRC transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Traffic violation management
  • Liaise with insurance companies and Home Office where necessary
  • Conduct staff driving tests
  • Maintain Fleet vehicle inventory
  • Safely and successfully drives 10-15 passenger vans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required; 3 years minimum
  • Strong cross-cultural skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, flexibility and adaptability
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and follow-through
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay attentive to details
  • Flexible and collaborative team player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working cross-culturally preferred
  • General knowledge of vehicles and vehicle maintenance.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
