MAXISIQ is seeking a highly experienced Operations Research Analyst to support mission planning and address operational challenges. optimize resources, and develop strategic solutions for critical military projects. Apply extensive experience in operations research within the DoD to improve operational efficiency through data-driven insights. This full-time position is located on Fort Belvoir, VA, with work anticipated to begin in mid-December 2024 upon award.

Duties involved in this role:

  • Lead the development and application of advanced mathematical models, simulations, and quantitative techniques to solve complex defense-related problems.
  • Analyze large datasets related to military operations, logistics, personnel, and resources to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide expert-level recommendations for optimizing the use of military resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, ensuring operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
  • Conduct in-depth cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning for DoD initiatives.
  • Deliver expert analytical support to senior DoD leadership, providing actionable insights for mission-critical decisions.
  • Develop decision-support tools such as models, dashboards, and reports that help leadership visualize data and make informed decisions regarding defense strategies and resource allocation.
  • Apply advanced operations research techniques to tackle complex defense challenges such as mission planning, logistics optimization, integrated weapons systems, and combat operations.
  • Provide detailed recommendations on how to enhance the efficiency of operations, reduce costs, and improve overall mission success rates.
  • Perform in-depth risk assessments for various defense operations, programs, and strategic initiatives, including scenario analysis to predict the potential outcomes of different courses of action.
  • Use forecasting and predictive analytics to evaluate the potential impact of new technologies, systems, or defense strategies on military operations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of new and emerging defense technologies and systems.
  • Conduct operational analysis on how new technologies can be integrated into existing DoD operations and make recommendations for technology adoption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, military personnel, and policymakers, to ensure that analytical findings are aligned with operational objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior operations research analysts, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in developing policies and operational strategies for defense programs, ensuring they are based on robust analytical frameworks.
  • Support the development of programs that focus on rapid prototyping, testing, and fielding of critical defense capabilities.

Clearance Requirement: Active or current Secret level clearance minimum

Experience: Recognized industry leader with

  • Proven track record of using advanced operations research techniques to support high-level decision-making in the DoD or a similar environment.
  • Expertise in mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and quantitative techniques such as linear programming, simulation, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as MATLAB, R, Python, or similar platforms, with experience using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for data visualization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational challenges and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Ability to translate technical data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis and findings to senior leadership.
  • Experience leading analytical teams or mentoring junior analysts in best practices for data analysis and operations research.
  • Extensive knowledge of DoD operations, defense acquisition processes, and military logistics.
  • Certifications such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Lean Six Sigma, or Project Management Professional (PMP) are preferred.
