Operations - Product Management - Lead Associate (Hybrid)

The Operations Product Management- Lead Associate role will contribute to working directly to analyze, build, develop, and/or design functionality for a product, as well as participate in the ongoing implementation, enhancement, or maintenance of existing products. This role will:

  • Ensure the product strategy is in alignment with business objectives to deliver the maximum value and outcomes.
  • Have an end-to-end understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger Fannie Mae ecosystem to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business.
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Perform essential business activities that require some degree of experience in mortgage servicing and a broad understanding of Single-Family mortgage standards & principles.
  • Own several components of Agile team deliverables, including: requirements gathering and documentation, story & feature writing, product planning & refinement, data & process modeling, and story mapping.
  • Source and synthesize customer discovery efforts to develop customer personas, understand customer pain points, aspirations and builds hypotheses around key problems to solve.
  • Support software development team by communicating requirements, addressing questions and providing business background for enhancements.

  • Support development of the design strategy for new products.
  • Act as team lead on implementation process for new products.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements.
  • Lead team members on the product lifecycle and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure product strategy is in alignment with business objectives.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 4 years

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the mortgage servicing process and experience in the mortgage product development lifecycle.
  • Investor Reporting

Skills

  • Business Insight including advising, designing business models, interpreting customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc.
  • Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives.
  • Operational Excellence including improving and overseeing operations
  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
  • Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risk, etc.
  • Communication including communicating in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning and distributing communication, etc.
  • Develop communication and outreach materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
  • Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.
  • Product Development including designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping, etc.
  • Product Management including managing demand, releases, and backlog.

Tools

  • Skilled in Excel
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
