This is a hybrid role based in our Sydney, Australia office with some flexibility for homeworking, so you must live within a commutable distance.
As part of the Destination Sport Group - https://destinationsport.com/ - Destination Sport Travel provides business travel services to a number of major sporting clubs & federations. Our bespoke business travel service has been designed and created to meet the specific requirements of sporting organisations, from scouts & individual player movements, through to commercial departments, directors and CEOs travel, both domestically & overseas.We are proud to be the Official Travel Partner/Supplier to several professional Sports Clubs, providing a range of services including the day-to-day travel of teams at all levels within the organisation (First Team, Youth, Women’s etc), plus Club Management, Directors and Sponsors.
This is a really exciting time of growth across the business, and as our Operations Manager you will work alongside our highly skilled team to offer first line support to our clients wishing to book group arrangements for a variety of events across the world. You will ensure maximum service levels to Destination Sport Clients, internal departments and suppliers by effectively managing your team and delivering operational planning whilst maximising the potential, profit and efficiency of your department & achieving Team KPIs.
No two days are the same in our sports travel team, but on a typical day you will
- Lead, motivate and support the Business Travel and Groups team
- Ensure that all operational employees know what is expected of them in terms of targets, standards and KPIs, and that you effectively monitor their performance to ensure compliance
- Ensure that all agreed processes and products are introduced and utilised to the maximum efficiency and then monitored for adherence
- Review the performance of your direct reports, ensuring that a formal appraisal for each staff member is conducted each year, with an interim review in between. Deal with matters that arise then or at other times in consultation with the HR department where necessary
- Take ownership of commercial and operational responsibility for Destination Sport Business Travel accounts
- Assist fully in the implementation of new accounts to the agreed service levels
- Increase the volume of net tickets purchased through our own Air Fares Unit
- Work closely with our Out Of Hours Operations Managers to ensure a smooth handover for Clients
- Work with head of department to ensure maximum opportunity to retain the customer accounts
- Monitor resource and workload in your Team and highlight any issues to your Head of Department
- View internal departments as customers and work effectively with them
- Ensure that Quality Partner programmes are supported and identify any business directed to non-quality partners that can be redirected without impairing the service to customers
- Establish and maintain a good level of rapport with key preferred suppliers. Ensure that all agreed activity with quality partners is undertaken with enthusiasm and in accordance with the agreed timetable
- Ensure employees are aware of all existing Service Level Agreements and are advised of new agreements or amendments to existing agreements
- Ensure that all records are maintained as agreed
- Adhere to the organisation’s policy and procedures on information security and take whatever actions are required to safeguard data and assets
- Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security
