How you’ll make an impact

The Operations Manager is a key role joining Xero at an important phase in our journey. Reporting to the Head of Operations - North America, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Xero Canada’s 12-month Go-to-Market (GTM) Operating Plan.

By using your skill set spanning execution, commercial and strategy - you will lead the design and analysis of key strategic opportunities for Canada, aligning global and regional strategy into key programs of work and deliverables for execution.

You will have a passion for analytical thinking, with strong ability to work through strategic problems to bring together data led recommendations, with limited support. You will excel in reporting on performance, metrics and business outcomes, leading reporting projects across team Canada.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across sales, marketing, sales operations, finance, product & partnerships to ensure the delivery of Canada’s Operating Plan and address any roadblocks as they relate to Canada’s Objectives and Key Results (OKR)
  • Act as a key conduit between global and region to ensure the seamless execution of ad hoc global led initiatives, applying critical thinking to incorporate regional nuances within the implementation
  • Build and maintain relationships with Canada’s sales managers, acting as a ‘thought partner’ and collaborate effectively to support the development of quarterly sales plans aligned with Canada’s operating plan and revenue goals
  • Prepare and lead reporting across Canada’s Performance, accountable for the rhythms/ reporting cadence across OKRs, Ops Plans and other ad hoc needs, identifying key insights and areas needing further analysis or support
  • Define and solve problems, applying structured approaches to break down complex and diverse problems, including sourcing and analysing data to validate hypotheses and clearly articulate recommendations from planning to execution
  • Play supporting role in planning of sales playbooks, events and internal kick-offs to maintain strategy alignment
  • Proactively understand and manage risks as they relate to your role

Success looks like

  • Significant contribution to the achievement of Canada’s key growth objectives and strategy through the operationalisation of key strategic initiatives
  • Successful execution of the region’s largest programs of work (Operating plans & OKRs), to deliver commercial growth targets
  • Well defined strategic programs of work and business cases delivered, with limited guidance
  • Cutting through ambiguity quickly to continue moving forward; efficiently addressing information gaps, uncertainty and lack of clarity
  • High quality thinking and decision making across the business - facilitated by the experience, tools and support of you and your team 
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement - collaborating across the organisation

What you’ll bring with you

  • 5 years of experience in Go-to-Market commercial, strategy  or operational roles
  • Led complex projects across and within a matrix environment
  • Experienced in leading cross functional teams towards a common goal
  • Comfort wearing multiple hats and managing complex demands from across the business 
  • Brings experience working in SaaS / technology environment
  • Proven ability to drive results within complex, multi-functional programmes
  • Takes initiative to resolve ambiguity and make progress despite incomplete information or unclear objectives
  • Independently gathers and interrogates relevant information,  leveraging analysis to extract key insights to validate hypotheses and clearly articulate recommendations
  • Design effective and collaborative stakeholder working sessions for mid-level stakeholders to facilitate decision making & alignment
  • Deliver insightful recommendations through to implementation with clear benefit to the business
  • Passionate about driving performance together with cross-functional teams
