In this diverse role of high impact, we are hiring an energized, inclusive and forward-thinking Operations Manager to join our team in our Label and Graphics business (graphics.averydennison.com / label.averydennison.com) in Cramlington, U.K. with a direct reporting line to our Plant Manager.  

Your Mission:

  • On a daily basis, and as a member of our plant leadership team, you will manage the Mixing, Coating, and Finishing areas ensuring our safety, quality, production, and cost objectives are achieved, work closely with all functions, and have a broad appreciation of how the business works and how to optimize results from materials, equipment, and people.
  • Next to participating in the establishment of our site’s annual operating plans, you will develop, deploy, and monitor annual goals and operational improvement strategies to drive improvement in key operational metrics (safety, quality, delivery and cost, training, inventory, and services) as well as driving the execution of our site improvement plans.
  • You will focus on improving performance through Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) efforts as well as lead the practice of all health and safety procedures, stay in sync with legal, legislative and corporate safety requirements and ensure that safety is our employees’ top priority
  • As a team role model and change agent, you will positively lead, develop and influence team members (appr. 130) to partner together to achieve individual and business goals, and drive a diverse and inclusive, yet inspirational, innovative, and engaging company culture with your team to consistently perform above expectations.

What we expect from you! - Your Expertise:

  • Previous work experience of 5+ years from medium to high volume manufacturing / plant / production operation / managerial position
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills combined with a passion for continuous improvement / sustainability / diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as strong communication skills, and the ability in being an inspirational coach and empowering your team
  • Skilled in leading multi-site, multi-functional, or business project initiatives while having a Lean Manufacturing background (preferably Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • Creativity, excitement, and innovation, entrepreneurial spirit for growing a sustainable business to set your career at Avery Dennison
