Operations & Expansion Lead (Based in Africa - Ivory Coast)

  • Develop and implement the overall operations and expansion strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and creating plans to expand into new markets (Côte d'Ivoire) or product/service offerings.
  • Identify new markets the business is worth expanding to in the African Region
  • Find new stores as per the characteristics and location communicated by Head of Operations, within the agreed timeline
  • Overall setup the store in terms of structure, equipment, shelves, bikes.
  • Conduct the full store setup on the application/system before opening date
  • Assist with the recruitment of the warehouse staff in liaison with the HR department
  • Ensure that legal documents and licenses for operating are done before launching date
  • Seek apartments and guest house for the expats and coordinate with the relevant leaders to seal the deal
  • Assist the operations leaders in all operational duties for improvements where needed, and replace operations leaders during absence or leave
  • Train the Operations leader and Store staff on all operations tasks
  • Conduct trial tests before opening date
  • Review customer service data and updates, the Training feedback form filled by new comers, and the onboarding performance trackers evaluation , for the purpose of enhancing the training plans for warehouse staff
  • Ability to travel very frequently for this role and go on missions (Travel time needed: at least 80%)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or similar field
  • Strong background in operations management, with experience in managing complex logistics, supply chain, and inventory management systems preferably in a supermarket or an e-commerce business
  • A strong understanding of eCommerce, including the latest trends and technologies in the industry
  • Strong business development skills, with experience in identifying new growth opportunities, developing business plans, and executing on strategic initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their goals.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to develop and implement strategies that prioritize customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Fluency in English and French is a must
