Operations and Curbside Projects Engineer

Fraport Greece is currently looking to cover the position of Operations and Curbside Projects Engineer responsible for traffic engineering planning, developing and monitoring transportation improvements to ensure smooth traffic flow while avoiding any potential incidents. The role works closely with the Operations and Curbside Projects Manager to guarantee that new designs, infrastructure, equipment and facilities meet all operational objectives.

What you will be doing:

Responsibilities

  • Leads, prepares and coordinates traffic studies for corresponding airports and provides effective feedback on vehicles’ flow, parking and access roads’ status per FG location.
  • Captures and analyses traffic data to identify relevant issues that may emerge due to predicted growth in order to develop recommendations, solutions and timely responses to traffic, parking and safety matters.
  • Works with other experts and consultants in developing strategies that lead to effective airports’ curbside improvement, regarding safety, provided services, operational improvement etc.
  • Monitors and follows up on traffic studies’ results and concludes on status per airport.
  • Assess, determines and implements strategies and engineering solutions to improve and maintain traffic efficiency, equitable parking supply and safety of road users in line with industry practices, and legislative requirements.
  • Gathers data and performs operational audits for traffic safety and reports back for planning and improvement purposes.
  • Assists the Operations and Curbside Projects Manager in developing, updating and monitoring the curbside projects.
  • Provides recommendations on open issues and findings related to the airport transportation.
  • Has an overview of the yearly Capex budget and liaises with all involved teams.
  • Monitors the progress of all operations projects, including on site, and highlight any issues.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering.
  • Up to 5 years of experience in transportation projects and traffic surveys involved as a Transport planner / Civil engineer.
  • Experience or generic studies relative to Aviation are considered an asset.
  • Prior project Management and Scheduling experience.
  • Excellent computer knowledge (MS Office & Outlook).
  • Fluency in Greek and English.

Other skills required

  • Project Management Skills.
  • Ability to travel across FG 14 airport on a frequent basis.
