We are currently seeking an Operations Accountant to join our finance team for approximately six to nine months to cover maternity leave.
The Operations Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our accounting operations, working collaboratively with various departments to support financial decision-making. This position is fixed term, will report to the Finance Manager and is responsible for accounts payable and treasury across the group.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Processing AP invoices, credit notes, expenses and credit cards
- Processing payments accurately and within expected timeframes
- Liaising with suppliers and service providers
- Ensuring adherence to credit and collection policies and procedures
- Completing month-end AP processes
- Preparing month-end reconciliations
- Liaising with external auditors and providing them with financial information
- Contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance team
- General filing and maintenance of financial records
- Assisting the finance team with other tasks, as and when required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Attention to detail
- Confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Good interpersonal skills
- Prior experience managing AP and treasury
- Accounting qualifications (nice to have although not essential)
