About the Role:
We are a leading fintech in Mexico, at the forefront of transforming financial services through technology and innovation in Latin America. We are looking for dynamic and experienced candidates to join our growing Operational Risk team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational risk framework, providing input for its improvement and ensuring alignment with both local regulatory requirements and the global standards of our parent company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and oversee frameworks and policies for operational risk management, third-party risk management, and business continuity, ensuring alignment with current regulations and effective implementation across the organization.
- Conduct thorough risk and control assessments to ensure a resilient control environment and proactive management of operational risks.
- Evaluate initiatives for new products and features to ensure successful integration into the operational environment. This involves identifying risks and coordinating with various teams to ensure that appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
- Implement and maintain Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) that provide actionable insights and add value to business units.
- Manage and maintain the Third-Party Risk Management framework, ensuring its effective operation and compliance with local regulations and the company’s global guidelines.
- Prepare and present detailed and insightful reports to various stakeholders, including risk committees, the board of directors, and senior leadership, highlighting key metrics and strategic recommendations.
- Develops effective and collaborative relationships with global teams to align operational risk methodologies and frameworks, ensuring their effective implementation at the local level.
Requirements:
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field in Risk Management.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing operational frameworks within the financial services sector, preferably in banking or payments.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting operational risk management in the financial services industry.
- Outstanding problem-solving and prioritization abilities, with a proven capacity to multitask effectively under pressure and a sharp attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills, skilled at refining standards, policies, and controls.
- Self-starter with flexibility, innovation, and adaptability.
- Proficiency in using risk management software, tools, and agile methodologies is highly preferred.
- A background in Third Party Risk Management is highly desirable.

Our Nu Way of Working
Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
