Synthesia is on a mission to make video easy for everyone. We’re committed to building the safest and most trusted AI video platform and are looking for an experienced Online Policy & Safety Manager to join our team and help us protect the integrity of our platform.

You will be end-to-end responsible for defining, evolving and operationalising our content moderation policies. A core responsibility will be to ensure that our policies are always aligned with the current disinformation news cycle to proactively catch potential misuse. Additionally, you will be required to audit and pentest the Synthesia platform to uncover moderation gaps that can inform future improvements. The role will also involve training and communicating our content moderation policies to internal stakeholders in Synthesia.

 

The role...

  • Develop, implement and refine Synthesia’s content moderation policies to ensure the integrity of our platform. 
  • Effectively evolve our content moderation policies to address emerging disinformation trends in the news cycle.
  • Conduct regular audits/pentests of the platform to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, threats, and best practices in content moderation and safety.
  • Communicate moderation policies to relevant internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with our policies and standards.
  • Manage the investigation of incidents related to trust and safety issues and escalate as necessary.
  • Work closely with moderation specialists who investigate and respond to content violations. 

 

About you...

  • At least 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety at a technology company.
  • Ability to operationalise emerging T&S trends into practical improvements to our moderation systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbally, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential risks and violations. 
  • Established network with the T&S research community.
  • Deep understanding of AI technology is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Experience managing teams and driving results is desirable but not essential. 
  • You need to be based in London
