Purpose:

The Delivery Manager role is crucial in bridging the gap between business and technical requirements for customer solutions.

This customer facing position involves working with multiple suppliers and cross-functional teams, both domestically and globally. The role requires flexibility, as you may alternate between Project Manager and Technical Business Analyst responsibilities depending on the situation.

The role will be a function within the overall Viasat International Government Segment. The primary customer is government

This role will report into Snr. Solutions Programme Manager who is responsible for the customer solution roadmap.

The successful candidate will be skilled at navigating complex project or operational settings while ensuring that technical solutions align with business needs and customer expectations.

You will contribute and work closely with the solutions team to develop a customer journey map, which will translate into Viasat International Government ability to transition new products and solutions into an operational and compliant state, ready for customer and business adoptions.  This in return will increase opportunity for revenue at scale.

The day-to-day:

Technical business analysis responsibilities:

  • Gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Analysing current business processes and systems
  • Developing management plans for new systems and solutions
  • Identifying areas for improvement or automation
  • Translating business needs into technical specifications
  • Facilitating communication between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Develop test plans for customer user acceptance testing
  • Oversee customer user acceptance testing
  • Oversee supplier system testing (Witness Testing)

Bridge between customer, business and ICT digital services:

  • Aligning ICT digital service initiatives with business and customer goals
  • Ensuring technical solutions meet customer needs
  • Explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Project management tasks:

  • Planning and scheduling project activities
  • Managing supplier to outcomes
  • Internal resource allocation and management
  • Risk and issue assessment and mitigation
  • All levels of status reporting
  • Managing project budgets

Technical knowledge:

  • Understanding of ICT technologies and systems
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle management

Areas of exposure:

  • Involved in technical quality assurance and compliance. i.e. ISO 27001, IRAP Australia
  • Working through Statement of Applicability and Security Risk Management Plans
  • Working with extended platform and fulfilment teams in optimising the current business workflows
  • Adhere to the WHS responsibilities and policies of Inmarsat (Viasat) as per the organisation's Safety Management System

 

  • Tertiary education, in areas of business and technology
  • Exposure to Agile Ways of Working (Scrum or Scaled Agile), Project Management Methodology (Prince 2 or PMI) and IT Service Management (ITIL v4)
  • Exposure to ISO27001, IRAP Assessments and reaccreditation
  • Exposure to Commonwealth of Australia DISP Framework
  • Exposure working on projects into government business units in Defense, Navy and Airforce
  • As this position directly supports Viasat customers in a global community who operate in numerous different time zones, it is essential that working hours are flexible. The candidate in this role will be expected to work with their line manager to adjust working hours to deliver services as required by the role while maintaining a satisfactory life work balance.
  • Must be committed to continuous personal development.
  • Advanced computer skills are essential (MS Office Inc. Excel, Word, Project)
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to travel interstate.
  • Must hold and maintain Australian citizenship and either already have or have ability to qualify for Australian Defence baseline clearance is essential.
