OFFSITE ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT – Upland, CA

Lewis Planned Communities is seeking an entry-level Offsite Assistant Superintendent to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their land development and construction management career.
 
About the Role:
 
In this position, you will assist in coordinating and overseeing land development activities for master-planned residential communities in the Inland Empire area of Southern California. You will gain hands-on experience in construction site management, subcontractor coordination, and quality control while working closely with experienced professionals. This role reports to the VP of Land Development Operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist in tracking daily work progress and schedules with subcontractors.
  • Support reviewing and inspecting grading, utilities, offsite infrastructure, and site work.
  • Help monitor City and Public Agency inspections and approvals.
  • Assist in ensuring subcontractors adhere to approved plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project status and updates.
  • Learn to interpret architectural and engineering plans for project oversight.
  • Provide general site support, including coordinating inspections and approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:
 
  • 2+ years of experience in construction, renovations, land development, or a related field (internships or coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or related disciplines are a plus).
  • Basic understanding of construction plans and specifications (training provided).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with project management software is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced construction environment.

Note: reliable transportation and valid driver's license are required for driving on company business to project sites and other meetings.
