Duties & Responsibilities
- Will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting our customers running their platforms on OCI.
- Will be handling 3rd level support, Change Requests, and small projects for our OCI customers.
- Will be the OCI technical lead on the 3rd level support team.
- Working hours will be Irish/UK business hours.
- Support multiple clients across multiple technologies.
- Mentoring of junior team members.
- Consult with customers and across a cross-team environment.
- Documentation and development of designs, processes, and procedures.
- Work within a structured ITIL / ISO20000 IT Service Management environment.
- Works directly with client to gather requirements, design solutions, build proof of concepts and implement solutions.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills arising from customer facing and on-site experience.
- Very strong verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Escalation point for major incidents/investigations.
Experience Required
- 5+ years working in IT, with proven experience in a support role.
- 3+ years’ experience working directly on OCI.
- Strong, first-hand experience of designing, building and supporting cloud solutions.
- Interpreting, understanding, and solving complex technical problems/incidents.
- Ability to influence internal teams and customers.
- Consultancy/project delivery experience with client facing background.
- Strong experience across multi-server, stand alone and clustered solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills required.
Technical Skills
-
- Experience with Exadata Cloud @ Customer (ExaCC) and/or Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS).
- Experience of working with OCI networking & FastConnect.
- Experience of debugging network routing and network security group issues within OCI.
- Experience of user management and IAM policies with OCI.
- Proven experience working with containerisation. E.g. managing clutter deployment, sizing updates, maintenance, patching etc. Containerisation technologies required: Docker; Podman; OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE).
- DevOps - Terraform - Able to do full implementations of cloud infrastructure builds using terraform. This includes all network components and IaaS PaaS components.
- Linux - Administrative skills such as creating user accounts and mounting block volumes, a candidate with basic Linux command line skills will still be considered.
Desirable skills
- Able to configure Linux environments using ansible, a candidate without this skill will still be considered but this would be advantageous.
- Database - Experience with Oracle database's is advantageous. Basic experience such as tns connections to Oracle database, how to work with database links.
- Experience working with autonomous databases would be advantageous.
- Experience working with Oracle Integration cloud, particularly provisioning and working with connectivity agents. The ability to create and work with integrations is not a requirement.
Required Qualifications/Certifications:
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2023 Architect Associate (1Z0-1072-23).
Desirable Qualifications/Certifications:
- Any Professional OCI certification would be highly desirable, e.g. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2024 Certified Architect Professional Certification
- Hashicorp Terraform Associate
- Linux Certification
- ITIL 4 Foundation
