The overall purpose of the role is to manage the Health Services (HS) clinic at the RTP site under the direction of the Health Services Physician and the Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) team. This position includes management of day-to-day operations of the clinical aspects of the RTP HS clinic. This position will assist with the promotion and support of the company’s health and wellness programs and will help position the clinic as a value-added benefit for Syngenta.
Please note: This is an on-site position in our Durham, NC location.
Patient Care:
- Ensure the confidentiality of employee medical records and personal information per HIPAA guidelines.
- Administer medical care and treatment to all clinic patients within the guidelines and protocols established by the Regional Physician and Health Services directives, policies, and procedures.
- Provide onsite coordination of examinations, treatment, and preventive measures related to the health of employees.
- Keep and manage the medical documentation.
- Provide compliance health screenings through wellness and pre-placement physical assessments and exams.
- Review all physical exams and assist in follow up communication and care such as referrals or obtaining lab tests.
- Manage and coordinate special screening programs (i.e. spouses, flu shots, etc.).
- Administer flu vaccine and other immunizations for employees and employee’s spouses through onsite clinic through various clinic programs.
Finances and Clinic Management:
- Serves as coordinator in ordering/obtaining/shipping materials.
- CPR and AED site coordinator.
- Coordinate with Short term disability (STD) and Worker’s Comp (C) nurse on employees returning to work.
Required:
- Should possess BS in nursing or other health related field.
- Current RN license in NC.
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience; with an emphasis on experience in occupation health and/or emergency medical care and management.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Public speaking in large or small group settings.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work clinic hours and be on call.
- Ability to walk for long distances, which may require walking of stairs.
- Ability to assist with lifting patients.
- Ability to carry medical supplies to assist with emergencies.
Preferred:
- COHN-S – optional
- Preferred candidates should have a working knowledge of worker’s compensation and relative state laws.
- Preferred candidates should have experience with and knowledge of OSHA guidelines desired.
