O2C Delivery Lead

Reporting into the Financial/Working Capital Controller, this is a key operational role setting Taylor & Francis (T&F)’s credit control policy, managing an internal credit control team responsible for key accounts and overseeing cash application activity.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit management and some exposure to cash application as well as the broader O2C life cycle.

Credit Control Leadership:

  • Lead and improve the T&F Credit Policy, setting procedures to minimize risk and optimize cash flow.
  • Develop strategies to enhance collection performance for strategic customer accounts using best practices.
  • Oversee credit limit changes and ensure adherence to the Credit Policy.
  • Prepare and present reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior stakeholders for visibility into collections performance.
  • Provide consolidated reporting to Finance and business stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Informa O2C Global Process Owner and T&F Finance Change Manager to adopt best practices in collections.

Key Account Credit Control Delivery:

  • Manage a team overseeing accounts receivable and collections for strategic key accounts to ensure timely payments and reduce delinquency.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and assessments for accurate credit profiles.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address credit-related issues and optimize processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts, acting as a trusted advisor for their credit needs.
  • Hold regular meetings with key accounts to discuss credit performance and improvements and address key account inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Cash Application Oversight:

  • Monitor unapplied cash and ensure accurate account reconciliations for key accounts.
  • Manage a Cash Application Specialist responsible for bank reconciliations in the month-end process.
  • Oversee bad debt write-offs and resolve escalated cash application queries and unidentified cash issues.

Controls and Compliance:

  • Work with Finance to ensure effective month-end close with clear ledger quality, provisions, and cash flow/collections forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Internal Control to apply and improve collections and cash application-related RACMs.
  • Support internal or external audit requests.

Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Shaping credit control strategy with process improvements.
  • Building effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Credit management, including analysis, risk assessment, and collections.
  • Understanding Cash Application processes and finance team integration.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Chartered Institute of Credit Management certification.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
