ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for picking nuts from the ground and collecting them in 35-pound bags.
- Must fill bag to proper level with acceptable kernel.
- Harvest all sound crop (acceptable kernel) which has fallen from the trees.
- While hand harvesting, exclude rocks, leaves, limbs, and rubbish.
- Must account for daily productions with numbered tags.
- Performs other work-related duties as needed.
- Must follow all company safety standards and procedures.
- Regular attendance is required for the position.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Must have the physical agility and strength to work in a squatted or stooped position for at least eight (8) hours.
- Must have vision (eyesight) strong enough to distinguish nuts from rocks.
- Must have adequate finger dexterity to grasp round nuts that are ¾ to 1 ½ inches in diameter.
- Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions including but not limited to bright sun and light rain.
- Outdoor temperatures may range from 55-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be able to carry at least thirty-five (35) pounds for short distances.
- Must be able to walk on rocky hillside ground.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to follow verbal/written instructions.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Will be required to complete a thirty (30) day probation period.
