The Nurse Manager is responsible for assigned patient care area with 24 hour accountability and for ensuring effective delivery of evidenced-based practice of clinical patient care and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager utilizes Transformational Leadership qualities including visionary capabilities and abilities to empower others with this vision, focused on meeting the needs and values of followers to motivate high performance in order to assure organizational success and goal attainment.

- Conducts a minimum of ten staff meetings per year.
- Reports quality data and performance improvement progress, administrative initiatives and strategic plan to unit staff regularly
- Reviews and follows up on incident reports and reports trends to staff.
- Participates and facilitates/sponsor for unit based council when applicable.
- Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services and healthcare delivery for assigned area and the integration of evidence based clinical services within their assigned unit.
- Creates a professional practice environment that fosters excellence in nursing services.
- Communicates expected standards of care clearly.
- Develops and monitors annual goals for improving customer satisfaction, quality, and cost containment and reports trends to staff
