NPD Technologist

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods. 

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. With dedicated retail packing capabilities within our business we offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service.

We are currently recruiting for NPD Technologist to work at our Methyr site.

As a Product Development Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the development team to innovate and create new products. You will work closely with the Senior NPD Manager to bring product ideas to life, ensuring they meet the product brief and comply with the Kepak NPD process.

Your strong process and factory application skills will enable you to evaluate existing and new raw materials. Additionally, you will conduct competitor analysis and present your findings to the internal team.

You should be able to plan, organize, and control your own resources, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects. You will also be involved in initiating and leading factory trials to optimize product, process, and cost.

Requirements

We are looking for the following qualifications and attributes:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in the manufacture of Food products
• Ideally a degree in Food Science or Equivalent
• Strong process and factory application skills
• A strong command of written and spoken English
• Confident in the use of Excel and Microsoft office
• Good organisation and time management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
• Full Driving License
